Could You Be In Need Of A Breast Surgery?

Have you ever felt like your breasts are too small? Do your breasts seem too big or like they sag too much? Do your breasts seem like they are not the same size? If any of these questions apply to you then you would be a good candidate for one of these Breast Surgeries.

Breast Augmentation is good for women who feel they have small breasts, sagging breasts or Asymmetrical breasts and this procedure can correct these problems through changing the shape, size, and feel of their breasts with breast implants.

Breast Reduction is a good procedure for women who have over-sized breasts or they are over-sized and not equal. Breast Reduction can change the size of the breasts by getting rid of the excess breast tissue and repositioning the nipple and areola to a higher and more normal position.

For anyone looking to learn more about these procedures, I have found a site that should be very useful in helping people find the information they want to know about these Breast Surgeries

All Cosmetic Breast Surgery Procedures Are An Art And Craft Developed Over Many Years

Breast augmentation surgery is a craft and an art that must be developed over many years with several factors needing to be considered. The most important of these factors, that many cosmetic surgeons make their priority, is to make sure that their patient/s are happy with the results. Usually, they have found over their years that the happiest patients are the people who understand what the art form of breast augmentation is about and what it is limited to. During the consultation with a plastic surgeon, he or she will seek to educate you and bring you into the process of making a decision. Many surgeons believe that this will lead you to a decision you will not regret.

Silicone Breast Implants Used In Breast Augmentation Have A Natural Look And Feel

The silicone breast implants (also approved for general use) that plastic surgeons use today have a somewhat thicker shell than the implants that were used before 1992. They are also filled with a thicker silicone gel than past implants. The breast implants come pre-filled in various sizes and they are securely sealed so that there is little to no chance of any leakage. The word silicone with an "e" at the end is referring to a group of chemical compounds that vary in thickness from gels to liquid to a rubbery consistency. Among other things, they contain silicon (with no "e") which is an element, just like carbon, iron, or nitrogen. Silicon is the second most common on Earth after oxygen. When oxygen and silicon are combined it forms silica which is the most common substance on the planet. Most people know silica in many different forms such as crystals, sand, and quartz. Silicone is used in several everyday items such as soaps, lotion, processed foods, chewing gum, and hairspray.

Choosing Breast Augmentation - Tulsa, Oklahoma

Tulsa Breast Augmentation - In addition to being aware of the steps a surgeon will take in performing a breast augmentation, it's good to pay Tulsa Breast Surgery heed to your doctor's instructions to you. After all, no matter how skilled your surgeon, the patient provides the working materials. Common preoperative instructions include cessation of smoking for a significant period prior to surgery, as well as avoiding aspirin and other substances as prescribed by your surgeon. It's not to deprive you of anything; these things can create complications in the operating room, such as an increase in bleeding. Your surgeon only wants your procedure to be as successful as possible. Tulsa plastic surgeon, Dr. Robert Mitchell, says that your surgeon may also request a mammogram be performed prior to surgery, to be used as a baseline in detecting future changes in your breast tissue. Naturally, continued self-examination following surgery is wise.

Cosmetic Breast Surgery Can Dramatically Improve Self-Image, Self-Confidence And Quality Of Life Variations

There are many factors that will take their toll upon a woman's breasts after many years. These factors include nursing and pregnancy and the force of gravity. When the skin loses its elasticity, the breasts will usually lose some of their shape and firmness and begin to sag. A plastic surgery procedure known as a mastopexy, or breast lift, is designed to fight against those affects of aging. The procedure will raise and reshape sagging breasts at least for a time.

A breast lift surgery can also reduce the size of a woman's areola which is the darker skin that is around the nipple. In the case that your breasts have lost volume or are small, breast implants inserted during the procedure can greatly increase their size and their firmness.

According to Palm Desert plastic surgeon, Dr. Ameen Habash, the biggest reason that a woman seeks a breast lift is because nursing and pregnancy have left them with less volume and stretched skin in their breasts. If a woman is planning on having children, or more children, she should postpone the idea of having a breast lift until after she is done having children. There are no special risks that would affect a future pregnancy (mastopexy generally does not interfere with breast-feeding), pregnancy is more than likely going to stretch your breasts again and remove the results of the procedure.

Re-Establish a Youthful Looking Breast

When performing breast augmentation surgery by itself, it takes great skill to place an implant correctly and achieve wonderful results. Similarly, it takes great skill to appropriately carry out a breast lift procedure by itself and re-establish a youthful looking breast. However, both of these operations have certain, relatively low levels of unpredictability when they are carried out by themselves. Unpredictability in plastic surgery originates from multiple factors, such as, individual wound healing factors, age, hormones and techniques used. When breast lifts are combined with implant placement the variables that contribute to unpredictability are multiplied several fold. Increased unpredictability sometimes makes it more difficult to achieve good results.

Those Whose Breast Shape Does Not Fit Their Self-Image May Desire A Breast Lift

A minimal scar breast lift procedure encompasses several newer techniques aimed at reducing scars. A "donut" or circumareolar mastopexy results in a scar only around the areola (the pigmented area around the nipple). The circumareolar-vertical mastopexy or "lollipop" type of incision results in a scar extending around the areola and vertically down to the crease under the breast.

Decide Wich Particular Breast Lift Procedure is Right for You

Additional considerations must also be understood in deciding which particular breast lift technique will be used. The circumareolar or "donut" mastopexy is reserved for minimal type lifts and will tend to decrease projection making the breast somewhat rounder and flatter across the front. This may be especially desirable to breast lift patients with overly pointed or projected breasts to start with. The addition of the vertical incision, while mandatory in some cases, will tend to add some projection to the breast. Hence, the initial shape, projection, and amount of sagging of the breast must all be taken into consideration as well as the wishes and expectation of the patient before making a final decision as to which technique is to be used.

Discover Which Approach is Right for Your Breast Lift

In general, breasts that are long and demonstrate significant vertical excess skin will require a horizontal skin resection to tighten the breast. Breasts that are wide and demonstrate significant horizontal skin excess will require vertical skin removal to tighten the breast. When breasts have both vertical and horizontal skin excess, the traditional lollipop incision is used which removes the vertical and horizontal excess. Currently, most surgeons employ 5 different breast lift techniques to treat most of their patients. Breast lifts are successful when used with or without implants. However, the combination of breast implant and breast lift can successfully tighten your skin and perk up the breasts without affecting the overall size of the breasts. In some cases, a slight to moderate increase in breast size can be performed with the use of implants.

Evaluation by a Plastic Surgeon For a Breast Lift

A plastic surgeon will examine your breasts and take measurements. The size and shape of your breasts and the placements of nipples and areolas will be carefully evaluated. Medical history will be discussed like medicine conditions, drug allergies, medical treatments received, and previous surgeries. If there was a weight loss, your weight should be stabilized before breast lift surgery.

A Breast Lift Restores Volume to Fallen Breasts

The breast lift procedure is indicated when the breasts have lost their youthful volume and have become stretched and saggy. At this point, the nipples have dropped as well and in severe cases, the nipples may point straight to the ground. In youth, the perky breast is supported by strong internal ligaments and other connective tissue structures which give it a firm feel. After childbirth, severe weight loss, gravity and hormonal changes cause these ligaments to stretch and weaken the breast tissue which looses its firmness (atrophies) and becomes quite soft. The severity of sagginess will usually dictate which breast lift technique is used in an attempt to rejuvenate the fallen breast.

A Mastopexy Gets Rid of Your Sagging Breasts

The breast lift procedure (mastopexy) is performed for patients who have sagging breasts due to pregnancy or aging. The nipples may be lower than desired giving the patient an aged look.

The procedure is similar to the breast reduction; however, the breast tissue and fat are preserved. Incisions will be made around the nipple, extending vertically to the fold of the breast and along the breast fold. This may be combined with a breast augmentation under certain circumstances.

The patient will have a supportive dressing for the first day then will be placed in a sports bra that should be worn for 3 to 4 weeks. The scars will fade tremendously over the following year.

Modern Mastopexy Techniques Limit Scarring

Modern surgical techniques, such as a vertical mastopexy, result in fewer and better scars than older techniques. Many plastic surgeons have switched to the vertical mastopexy technique for most patients for this reason. Recovery is surprisingly rapid, with resumption of reasonable activity in two or three days. The discomfort is very moderate, approximately equal to a subglandular breast augmentation (saline).

Time Takes it's Toll on a Woman's Breasts; Revitalize Them with a Mastopexy

Over the years, factors such as pregnancy, nursing, and the force of gravity take their toll on a woman's breasts. As the skin loses its elasticity, the breasts often lose their shape and firmness and begin to sag. Breastlift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure to raise and reshape sagging breasts - at least, for a time. (No surgery can permanently delay the effects of gravity.) Mastopexy can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple.

Mastopexy surgery can save a woman from embarassment and pain. It's the perfect surgery for a woman suffering from sagging breasts. Has anyone had this surgery performed on them before?

Breast Lift (Mastopexy): The Cure For Sagging Breasts

A breast lift, technically called a mastopexy, is a surgical procedure which can help to restore a more youthful and natural shape to sagging breasts. Gravity, pregnancy, nursing, weight gain, loss of skin elasticity, and aging, can all lead to sagging and a loss of firmness. A breast lift removes excess skin and tissue to reshape and firm the breasts, and it almost always involves repositioning the nipple-areola complex higher on the breast mound. A Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in California can help you get the breast lift you want.

I think it is great to have a surgery that restores self-esteem and confidence into older woman and mothers. The aftermath of pregnancy can be crushing to some women, especially when younger. Has anyone had an experience with a mastopexy?
