A Cosmetic Surgeon Can Perform Laser Hair Reduction On All Skin Types

Every woman and man is capable of making their unwanted facial hair a thing of the past and forgetting about painful electrolysis, waxing, and razors. There are laser hair removal systems that are non-invasive and are specifically designed to remove undesired hair from the majority of the body. These systems generate intense long-pulsed light through an actively-cooled hand piece to effectively disable any unwanted pigment from hair follicles. To most effectively treat hair removal, you must have the hair treated during the growth cycle. These will be in approximately six week intervals.

Post-operative Guidelines for Laser Hair Removal

You will likely experience a temporary slight reddening of the skin or localized swelling during laser hair removal. You may feel like you have a bit of sunburn after surgery. Using an over-the-counter topical steroid cream is all you should need to remain comfortable. Remember to protect the skin with a SPF 30 sun-block. You may wear moisturizer and makeup formulated for sensitive skin, as desired. You may immediately return to your regular activities. You may notice hair shedding from follicles for a few days to a week after treatment, this is normal.

Laser Hair Reduction Eliminates Shaving

Palomar StarLux™ Hair Removal utilizes clear pulsed light technology to target the melanin found in the hair shaft and follicle. This light heats the area, denatures the cells and destroys the hair follicle. The number of treatments required varies depending on the density, color and location of the hair growth. A consultation is needed to review pricing and number of treatments estimated.
