Carson City - Choosing a Plastic Surgeon

Many of the numerous reasons to consider cosmetic surgery begin with a dissatisfaction with one or more parts of the body, but not all. Breast enlargement Plastic Surgery Carson City is one of the most popular procedures in the United States, and has proven a boon to the confidence of thousands of women, but would obviously be of no use to a someone with excessively large breasts (and the neck, back, and shoulder pain they can cause). It's a little less evident, however, whether a woman seeking to regain breast size lost to time, child bearing, or whatever would get better results from a breast lift. Face lift surgery can help you look years younger, but a procedure such as an eyelid lift might provide similar results. And though by no means a method for weight loss, liposuction is useful for targeting specific exercise-resistant fat deposits.

These and other issues are often best addressed by consulting with the right doctor. Nevada plastic surgeon Kent Gabriel is guided by a "therapeutic alliance" with his patients. His highly informative pre-operative consultations are designed to help you make the safest and best decision possible, and that commitment is seen is his surgical techniques and on-going post-operative care as well. If you've been thinking about plastic surgery, perhaps you should consider your plastic surgery in Carson City, NV.

Male Plastic Surgery - Breast Reduction in L.A., California

Los Angeles breast surgery isn't just for women seeking better proportions to their figure. While it's true that doctors like Santa Monica plastic surgeon, Dr. Steven Teitelbaum, do provide women with a full range of breast surgery (increasing, decreasing, lifting and more), there is also breast reduction for men to be considered.

Defined as "excessive development of the breast in the male" by Mirriam-Webster Online, gynecomastia is more common than you may think. Most men will develop gynecomastia to some extent at some point in their lives. Though it frequently resolves itself, some "man-boobs" don't go away on their own. They still need not be permanent. Just as Dr. Teitelbaum treats women dissatisfied with their breasts, men, too, can be treated for their "breasts." Men might not normally consider themselves as likely candidates for plastic surgery, but male plastic surgery is helpful for treating more than moobs. As you see Dr. Teitelbaum, gynecomastia surgeon, there may be additional procedures from which you could benefit.

Body Sculpting in La Jolla

Self improvement has many faces, from selecting a sensible salad instead of a slab-o-steak to turning off the tube and tackling a tome of Tolstoy. Taking time for physical exercise improves not only your health, but improved health improves the way you feel generally. That may be why we seek to improve ourselves; it does make us feel better. What about the things we can't change, however? Some fat deposits, for example, stubbornly refuse to leave their chosen dwelling no matter how well you eat or exercise. Even after you've rid yourself of the fat, excess skin can remain. That's where La Jolla cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Robert Kearney, comes in. Dr. Kearney's San Diego liposuction patients are surgically separated from those obstinate fat deposits, and abdominoplasty can be an effective way to flatten a belly that won't respond to diet and exercise.

Body Contouring Procedures Like Liposuction And Abdominoplasty Are Performed To Create A Better Contour

A lipoplasty procedure is performed to remove localized areas of fat that surround the abdomen, upper arms, buttocks, hips, thighs, neck, calves, and knees. Patients who receive liposuction surgery are typically looking to improve the contours of their figure - both out of and in clothing. The cosmetic surgery procedure itself is performed with a thin metal tube that is called a cannula. This tube is inserted underneath the patient's skin and is used to vacuum fat away from specific irregular contours on one's body.

Liposuction Can Fix What Dieting And Exercise Can't

Liposuction is one of the most commonly practiced plastic surgery procedures, and it can be very safe and effective if it is performed properly. Although, this is not a proper way to control your weight and is best done to those specific areas of your body that seem to not be affected by dieting or exercise.

There is a layer of fat between your skin and underneath your muscles that exists throughout your entire body. Unwanted deposits of fat are found in these places. Liposuction is a plastic surgery procedure that can get rid of these unwanted fatty deposits and reveal a younger and more appealing shape to your body.

Contemplating Liposuction Surgery in Glendale, California

Liposuction Glendale - Thus far, the 21st century has seen an significant increase in cosmetic surgery Plastic Surgeon Glendale CA performed in the United States. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery states that over 10 million surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures were performed in the U.S. in 2008, compared to just over 2 million in 1997. So does this mean that plastic surgery has become as routine as grabbing a couple of burgers at the drive-up window?

No, of course not. No matter how common the procedure, surgery always involves some risk. Then there's the unique element of the patient, no two of which are quite the same. A consultation with an experienced plastic surgeon such as Dr. Allan Perry, who's been board certified since 1994 and practices plastic surgery in Pasadena, is the first step toward seeking cosmetic surgery and preparing the pitfalls that apply specifically to you.

Following Suction Lipectomy, Most Patients Have Very Little Pain

Before you receive a liposuction procedure, your plastic surgeon will carefully outline the areas of bulging fat that are to be suctioned. He or she will then draw detailed contour lines in order to further define the contour and shape characteristics of the deposits of fat. Plastic surgeons will use the "tumescent technique" in which a large amount of fluid will be initially placed to swell the area. This technique will allow for fat to be removed in a very smooth, safe, and symmetrical manner. The fluid is able to help loosen the fat while providing a local anesthesia for operative and immediate post-operative discomfort. It will also be able to provide epinephrine which is capable of decreasing bleeding.

Liposuction Can Do A Lot For Your Appearance

If you have recently gone through dramatic weight loss and still seem to have troubles getting rid of the fat in certain problem areas of your body then there is a procedure that is perfect for you.

Liposuction is a procedure that aspirates the fat from your body by using a hollow instrument called a cannula that is connected to a negative pressure machine or a syringe.

Liposuction is very safe when done by an experienced plastic surgeon and it often goes very well with other procedures like abdominoplasty, facelift surgery, body lifts, arm lifts or Breast Reduction and breast lift surgeries.

For anyone looking to learn more about this procedure here is a page I found that should be very useful in teaching more about Liposuction.

A Compression Garment Will Be Recommended By Your Plastic Surgeon After Suction Lipectomy

After liposuction surgery, the patient will be able to go home with a compression garment that covers the areas that have been treated. Compression of the areas where liposuction has been performed is recommended for about a month since it will help reduce swelling after the procedure. Once the soreness and pain decrease, it's frequently more comfortable to wear spandex or lycra exercise pants. Initial discomfort from the liposuction surgery will be easily controlled through the use of oral medication. Swelling and bruising will typically subside in two to four weeks with final results taking shape over two to three months.

Ultrasonic Assisted Liposuction Performed By A Plastic Surgeon Allows For A Safer Removal Of Fat

Plastic surgeons use UAL which allows for a safer removal of a larger amount of fat than what a standard liposuction procedure allows. The increase in safety is due to the smaller amount of blood removed with UAL. This means that UAL procedures can be very useful to someone who is moderately overweight even though it is not a weight loss procedure. Ultrasound assisted liposuction was created to improve the proportions and contour of the treated areas, resulting in a more flattering figure or physique.

If You Have Fatty Areas That Don't Respond To Diet Or Exercise, Liposuction Is For You

Liposuction would be a great option for you if you have fatty areas that don't respond to exercise or diet. Liposuction is not a cellulite treatment or weight-loss procedure and those who are in good shape yet struggle with "problem" areas are the best candidates. The procedure slims and contours different areas of the body by removing the excess fat. Liposuction does not treat loose or sagging skin. In some cases, liposuction is performed alone, in other cases it is used with procedures such as a breast reduction/lift or a tummy tuck, which can reduce sagging skin. According to Tacoma plastic surgeon, Dr. Nichols, when combined with other procedures, liposuction can be one of the procedures in a Mommy Makeover.

A Word About Abdominoplasty in Lindon, Utah

Abdominoplasty in Utah - A tummy tuck operation involves making an incision that falls along the natural creases of the lower abdomen, usually correlating with the bikini line. The skin is then lifted away from the abdomen, creating a flap. Depending on the patient's unique situation, the navel may be moved, fat may be suctioned away, and excess skin is excised, or cut away. Scarring is minimized as much as possible by the incision's being located in a natural crease, and by the application of vitamins and adhesives, but a scar is to be expected whenever there is an incision.

Utah cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Kimball Crofts, reminds patients that planned future pregnancies and certain medical conditions can make an abdominoplasty unsafe. The best way to know for sure if you are a good candidate for this procedure is in a personal consultation with your plastic surgeon.

For Many People Who Have Lost A Large Amount Of Weight, There's No Diet Or Exercise That Can Restore Their Former Contour

Most of the candidates for an arm lift are those who have lost a lot of weight following a Bariatric procedure, also referred to as "lap banding" or "stomach stapling." According to the website of an Atlanta plastic surgeon, while these patients reap many health and psychological benefits from this weight loss, one of its after effects is sagging skin that hangs from the arms and other parts of the body. Because the skin has lost its elasticity following years of obesity, no amount of diet or exercise can restore firmness and tone to the arms.

Eyelid Surgery in Lindon, Utah

Eyelid Surgery in UtahDuring the aging process, wrinkles, lines, and puffiness around the eyes contribute to a tired or aged appearance. Since the eyes are among the first things noticed about a person, it stands to reason that, whether the eyes look old and tired or young and energetic, judgments about the eyes will extend to the person. Eyelid surgery (known as blepharoplasty) is a procedure performed to give the eyes a visual pick-me-up.

Dr. Kimball Crofts performs blepharoplasty in Utah. The procedure involves small incisions in the natural contours around the eyes where any scars will be less noticeable. Fatty tissue is removed and loose skin is tightened, sometimes using laser technology to smooth the lower lids. If you are considering cosmetic surgery in Utah, you want to arrange a consultation with Dr. Crofts to discuss your goals and what can be done to help you reach them.

Lindon, Utah, Plastic Surgery

Cosmetic surgery in Lindon"It is absolutely necessary to take every step possible to ensure a safe outcome," remarks Utah plastic surgeon, Kimball Crofts. Safe and artfully skilled plastic surgery means a well sculpted body and a satisfied patient. But the key, he adds, to great plastic surgery is first understanding what is desired. After the real goals are identified, the process of mapping out the right course of action becomes considerably easier.

Dr. Crofts, his practice in Lindon, Utah, says he views cosmetic surgery as a "surgical art of restoration and enhancement." With the numerous advances in technique and technology, effects of the sun, age, wear and tear, trauma, gravity, child birth, and weight loss can increasingly more often be addressed through surgery. Dr. Crofts offers a wide variety of both surgical and non-surgical treatments to both restore and to improve.

The best candidates are near normal weight people with elastic skin who desire an improved contour change. This procedure is usually performed under general or local anesthesia on an outpatient basis. The incisions are placed in specific areas to provide the optimal contouring and aesthetic result. A fitted compression garment will be worn for about 3 to 4 weeks. Activity may be resumed in about 3 weeks and the final results will be apparent in about 3 months.

Improve The Appearanc Of Your Body Contours With Liposuction

Liposuction is a procedure performed to improve the appearance of your body contours. It can help sculpt the body by removing unwanted fat from specific areas, including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks and neck. Although no type of liposuction is a substitute for dieting and exercise, liposuction can remove stubborn areas of fat that do not respond to traditional weight-loss methods.

There are technical variations to the basic liposuction techniques. Our surgeons are highly experienced and can remove the fat, but it is not what is removed that matters - it is the shape that you leave the body in after the fat is gone that counts. Liposuction techniques, together with an excellent artistic vision make our surgeons the right individuals to help you achieve the body contours you have always dreamed of.

The best candidates for liposuction are normal-weight people with firm, elastic skin who have pockets of excess fat in certain areas. You should be physically healthy, psychologically stable and realistic in your expectations. Your age is not a major consideration, but older patients may have diminished skin elasticity and may not achieve the same results as a younger patient with tighter skin.

Liposuction Creates Proportion and Balance

The most commonly suctioned areas are the neck (underneath the chin), tummy, waist, love handles, hips, saddle bags, inner thighs, knees, and, infrequently, the ankles. During the procedure you are completely awake, allowing you to lie down and stand up. Everyone is aware that their body appears differently when they are standing vs. lying, and by having you stand your surgeon can more accurately sculpt your body's proportions. Pre-operative valium will help minimize any anxiety and discomfort you may feel. A special tumescent solution will be injected. This will numb the area as well as put fluid around the fat cells so they are more easily removed.

Facelift Information

The neck lift procedure is designed for people who have excess fat around the neck, but have good skin tone and are not yet ready for a full face-neck lift. This operation includes liposuction of the neck, manual removal of fat underneath the muscles and tightening of the neck muscles under the chin. Excess skin cannot be removed with this procedure. If excess skin is the problem then a full face-neck lift should be done.

A one inch incision is placed just under the chin, and the skin is elevated off of the fat and muscle. A 3mm cushion of fat is left on the skin, and then liposuction is used to remove all of the remaining fat down to the muscle. De-fatting the neck is also done by manually removing fat from underneath the platysma muscle. Once the fat is removed, the muscles are tightened and any neck cords are released.

The incision is then closed with 3-4 sutures. Drains are also used to remove any excess fluid or blood and are removed in 1 or 2 days after the surgery.

Are There Different Liposuction Techniques?

Though the basics of liposuction remain the same, there are different techniques that can be used during liposuction. "Tumescent Liposuction" During this technique the plastic surgeon will inject a medicated solution into the fatty areas before the fat is removed. The solution is a mixture of intravenous salt water, a local anesthetic (lidocaine) and a drug that contracts the blood vessels (epinephrine). This fluid injection helps the fat to be removed more easily, reduces blood loss and bruising after surgery, and provides anesthesia during and after the surgery. The amount of fluid injected varies and depends on the preference of the surgeon. "Ultrasound-Assisted Lipoplasty (UAL) This technique requires the use of a special cannula that produces ultrasonic energy. As the ultrasonic energy passes through the areas of fat it causes the fat cells to liquefy. The fat is then removed with the traditional liposuction technique. Because the fat is liquid at the time that it is removed, UAL is smoother and mechanically more efficient. UAL also minimizes trauma, resulting in less bruising and blood loss and especially improves the ease and effectiveness of liposuction in fibrous areas of the body. More information about liposuction.

Liposuction is One of Today's Most Popular Plastic Surgery Procedures

One of the most popular procedures today, liposuction is designed to eliminate fatty deposits in various areas of the body, such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks or neck. This is not a weight loss procedure but rather a sculpting of areas that are refractory to dieting and exercise. During the tumescent liposuction procedure, fluid is injected into the tissue to improve the efficiency of fat removal and to decrease the blood loss. Then, a cannula connected to a vacuum pump is inserted through a small 1/4” incision in a normal skin fold, and the area is suctioned. Today, advanced techniques using ultrasonic and power assisted cannulas have enhanced results. This body contouring procedure can be performed on an outpatient basis, and the patient can resume normal activities within a week's time, but must refrain from exercising and sports for three weeks postoperatively.

Remove Localized Fat Deposits with Liposuction

Liposuction can remove localized fat deposits from almost any area of the body. Many plastic surgeons use an "ultrasonic" technique, during which sound waves liquefy fat cells before liposuction begins. This allows the elimination of more tissue, especially in difficult to treat areas such as "love handles" and the upper abdomen. Ultrasound breaks up fibrous tissue in the fat, and gives smoother results than with other types of liposuction.
By injecting saline, anesthetic solution and epinephrine during liposuction ("tumescent" liposuction), bruising is minimized. Incisions for liposuction are small and easily hidden.

Liposuction: The Procedure

Many plastic surgeons use a "tumescent technique." After the induction of general anesthesia or intravenous sedation, a large volume, up to several quarts, of very dilute local anesthetic is injected into the areas to be treated. There is a tiny dose of adrenaline in the fluid as well, which makes the blood vessels in the area clamp down. This prevents perhaps 95% of the blood loss that would otherwise occur during liposuction.
Thin hollow stainless steel tubes are placed through short (perhaps 1/4") incisions in the area treated and are used to suction away the appropriate amount of fat. Sheets of lightweight foam are placed on the treated areas, and a compression garment, like a corset, is placed. Bruising is usually scant.

Get Rid of Stubborn Fat with Liposuction

While plastic surgeons encourage approaching liposuction from a state of good health, diet and exercise, they can effectively remove stubborn areas of fat that won't respond in any other way. Through a very tiny incision, which can be concealed, a plastic surgeon will place a tube deep beneath the skin. With a combination of ultrasound energy and suction, a plastic surgeon can remove and sculpt fatty layers. The liposuction they perform is usually circumferential which will tailor the area front to back and avoid any irregularities. Afterwards a compression garment or girdle will help control swelling and provide comfort while the skin shrinks and the bruising resolves.

What can Liposuction do for You?

A liposuction can help individuals restore a thinner and fitter looking contour to their bodies. The specified portion of the body is made smaller to better match the shape of the patient. Plastic Surgeons accomplish this by removing excess fat through a vacuuming procedure. This not only helps to restore the physical appearance of the patient, but also restores self-confidence and respect to the patient.

Get rid of excess weight from your thighs!

The thighs tend to be an area of the body that is often overlooked but one that can greatly benefit from Plastic Surgery. The thighs can be affected by both redundant skin and an over-accumulation of fatty deposits. There are many reasons why the thighs undergo these changes. The thighs are one area of the body that is particularly prone to fat build-up and deterioration in skin quality. During the aging process, the skin loses elasticity, retaining ligaments stretch and gravity takes its toll. Thigh skin is especially prone to these changes as it is naturally thinner than skin found elsewhere in the body. Weight gain also plays a roll in this process as the added skin tension further stretches and thins the skin. The problem can become quite noticeable with significant weight loss. Sun exposure and cigarette smoking can also be major contributors to the problem. A Thigh Lift could be the solution.
