Carson City - Choosing a Plastic Surgeon

Many of the numerous reasons to consider cosmetic surgery begin with a dissatisfaction with one or more parts of the body, but not all. Breast enlargement Plastic Surgery Carson City is one of the most popular procedures in the United States, and has proven a boon to the confidence of thousands of women, but would obviously be of no use to a someone with excessively large breasts (and the neck, back, and shoulder pain they can cause). It's a little less evident, however, whether a woman seeking to regain breast size lost to time, child bearing, or whatever would get better results from a breast lift. Face lift surgery can help you look years younger, but a procedure such as an eyelid lift might provide similar results. And though by no means a method for weight loss, liposuction is useful for targeting specific exercise-resistant fat deposits.

These and other issues are often best addressed by consulting with the right doctor. Nevada plastic surgeon Kent Gabriel is guided by a "therapeutic alliance" with his patients. His highly informative pre-operative consultations are designed to help you make the safest and best decision possible, and that commitment is seen is his surgical techniques and on-going post-operative care as well. If you've been thinking about plastic surgery, perhaps you should consider your plastic surgery in Carson City, NV.

Reconstruction Breast Surgery - Detroit, MI

Detroit breast reconstruction - The American Cancer Society estimated that over 190,000 women would be diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States in 2009, and that close to 40,000 would die of the disease. Women faced with mastectomy, or surgical removal of a breast, to prevent tumors from spreading and ending their lives are also presented with a whole host of potential physical and emotional woes over and above the cancer. Along with the trauma of losing a body part come those little unexpected details of daily living that serve to remind her of her loss.

It would be the apotheosis of understatement to say that the decision to have a breast reconstructed is a highly personal one. Though the list of possible advantages and disadvantages can be daunting, reconstruction of the breast can make a significant positive impact on the self image and quality of life for those who choose to undergo the procedure. Detroit plastic surgeon, Dr. Mohamad H. Bazzi, is a board certified plastic surgeon who seeks "a balance between your inner self and a corresponding outward reflection."

Male Plastic Surgery - Breast Reduction in L.A., California

Los Angeles breast surgery isn't just for women seeking better proportions to their figure. While it's true that doctors like Santa Monica plastic surgeon, Dr. Steven Teitelbaum, do provide women with a full range of breast surgery (increasing, decreasing, lifting and more), there is also breast reduction for men to be considered.

Defined as "excessive development of the breast in the male" by Mirriam-Webster Online, gynecomastia is more common than you may think. Most men will develop gynecomastia to some extent at some point in their lives. Though it frequently resolves itself, some "man-boobs" don't go away on their own. They still need not be permanent. Just as Dr. Teitelbaum treats women dissatisfied with their breasts, men, too, can be treated for their "breasts." Men might not normally consider themselves as likely candidates for plastic surgery, but male plastic surgery is helpful for treating more than moobs. As you see Dr. Teitelbaum, gynecomastia surgeon, there may be additional procedures from which you could benefit.

Beverly Hills, CA - Breast Enhancement

A little time spent searching the history of prosthetics turns up regular occurrences of Ambroise Paré as the father of medical amputation and, Breast Implants Beverly Hills not coincidentally, influential in the field of prosthetics. There are examples cited of "earliest known" prosthetics, and commentary about how little change one sees in either materials or technique for the bulk of history. Like so many arenas of human knowledge, however, things have really taken off over the last century or so. Iron, wood, and leather have given way to plastics, fiberglass, and other space-age materials. What's all this got to do with breast implants in Beverly Hills, you ask?

A prosthesis is any artificial device used in place of a body part, or to make a body part work better. Arms and legs come readily to mind, perhaps because they are easily spotted without the use of X-rays, at least at a pool or decathlon. The term also applies to more than just arms and legs, however. Ears, eyes, fingers, teeth, and even devices placed surgically inside the body qualify.

As with external prosthetics, the breast implants used by Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Dr. Marc Mani, must conform specifically to the individual patient. Unlike an arm or a leg, this kind of prosthesis is surgically implanted under the breast tissue, either over or under the underlying pectoral muscle. Because breast implants do not technically serve a life-sustaining purpose, the surgery is elective, and so not generally covered by insurance. As such the decision to have breast augmentation surgery is that much more personal. The benefits of breast augmentation may be less easily defined than that of an artificial leg, but are no less real.

Body Sculpting in La Jolla

Self improvement has many faces, from selecting a sensible salad instead of a slab-o-steak to turning off the tube and tackling a tome of Tolstoy. Taking time for physical exercise improves not only your health, but improved health improves the way you feel generally. That may be why we seek to improve ourselves; it does make us feel better. What about the things we can't change, however? Some fat deposits, for example, stubbornly refuse to leave their chosen dwelling no matter how well you eat or exercise. Even after you've rid yourself of the fat, excess skin can remain. That's where La Jolla cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Robert Kearney, comes in. Dr. Kearney's San Diego liposuction patients are surgically separated from those obstinate fat deposits, and abdominoplasty can be an effective way to flatten a belly that won't respond to diet and exercise.

Is a Santa Monica, CA, Tummy Tuck Right for You?

When should you undergo a tummy tuck? First and foremost, only a qualified surgeon can definitively answer that question for any given patient. There are some generally applicable details, however, that are useful to know about tummy tucks (also called abdominoplasty). Santa Monica Abdominoplasty

First, abdominoplasty is not a means of weight loss. It can be useful once the weight is lost, but the best abdominoplasty candidates are already in relatively good shape and just have a fat deposit or loose abdominal skin that does not respond to diet and exercise. The abdominal wall muscles are tightened during a tummy tuck, making the procedure particularly advantageous to women who, through pregnancy, have stretched their bodies beyond its ability to fully recover. This also makes abdominoplasty one of the most "uncomfortable" procedures, usually requiring a hospital stay during recovery. The extent of scarring depends on how extensive the procedure is. Incisions are made in inconspicuous real estate, but it's safe to assume that if someone cuts your belly open, there will be scarring.

Generally an elective procedure, abdominoplasty shares at least thing in common with all surgery; there is the risk of complication. A frank conversation with your plastic surgeon is an important step toward understanding what you face. Recognized as one of the top aesthetic surgeons in the U.S., Dr. Steven Teitelbaum provides Santa Monica abdominoplasty patients comprehensive care.

Abdominoplasty to Smooth Your Tummy in Carson City, NV

Tummy Tuck in Carson City - If you've been toying with the Breast Lift with Implants Lake Tahoe notion of seeking out a plastic surgeon, you probably already have a "problem area" or two in mind that you want addressed. Perhaps you've finally lost those "extra" pounds and just can't bring yourself to celebrate because, thanks to a loss of elasticity over time, the skin around your middle felt it would be more fun to flop down like a deflated balloon.

A loss of skin elasticity is normal as we age, and so it's less willing to shrink down with the rest of the body once it's been stretched. A tummy tuck surgery is one option for addressing this. By excising loose, over-hanging skin and tightening the abdominal wall muscles, a plastic surgeon can put the finishing touches on your efforts. Much depends on your current physiology and future plans. These kind of details are what makes the consultation with your surgeon so important.

Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Kent Gabriel describes his consultations as "lengthy and informative." By spending "as much time as a patient needs to discuss their situation," Dr. Gabriel hopes that whether or not a patient goes forward with their surgery with him, they will leave the consult with greater understanding.

A Mommy Makeover isn’t just for recent moms—some women wait several years before treating themselves.

A Cosmetic Surgery Procedure Known As Scar Revision Can Camouflage A Scar

After healing some people, unfortunately will form scars that are unsightly or that cause any unwanted symptoms such as tightness or pain. The cosmetic surgery or scar revision involves the removal of the offending scar and its replacement with an improved surrounding soft tissue or skin. This can allow for the scar to be camouflaged and minimized in a much more aesthetic and functional way.

Scars Are One Of The Few Things Whose Appearance Tends To Improve With Age

A scar is the natural result of the body attempting to heal an open tear or wound in the surface of the body or skin tissues. Every person forms scars, and scars are always resulting from surgical incisions or trauma which goes all the way to the deeper layers of skin and sometimes the structures. In fact, a scar will result from any type of plastic surgery procedure. There is no such thing as a cosmetic surgery procedure that does not leave a scar, regardless of what is advertised or hyped.

Cosmetic Surgery Canton MI

Breast Implants in Canton - Whenever I recall the silicone gel-filled breast implant Breast Implants Michigan issues of the early nineties, it reminds me of a cartoon showing a woman with a deflated chest and bell-shaped legs glaring at a scientist, implying that the filler from her implants had not only leaked but found its way down through her body to slosh around her ankles. Of course, silicone gel is more likely to remain in the shell or the implant pocket. In fact it may be difficult even to detect a leak in a silicone implant without an ultrasound or MRI scan.

Much been learned over the almost twenty years since the FDA withdrew its approval of silicone breast implants (FDA approval was restored in 2006; silicone breast implants are currently available for augmentation in women 22 years and up). Much of the pertinent information about breast implants is only applicable on a personal basis, based on the physiology of the individual patient. This makes your doctor consultation vitally important. Dr. Bazzi is a board certified Michigan plastic surgeon who can provide you the personalized information you need.

Following Suction Lipectomy, Most Patients Have Very Little Pain

Before you receive a liposuction procedure, your plastic surgeon will carefully outline the areas of bulging fat that are to be suctioned. He or she will then draw detailed contour lines in order to further define the contour and shape characteristics of the deposits of fat. Plastic surgeons will use the "tumescent technique" in which a large amount of fluid will be initially placed to swell the area. This technique will allow for fat to be removed in a very smooth, safe, and symmetrical manner. The fluid is able to help loosen the fat while providing a local anesthesia for operative and immediate post-operative discomfort. It will also be able to provide epinephrine which is capable of decreasing bleeding.

Cosmetic Surgeons Perform Facial Rejuvenation Surgery For Many Reasons

A rhytidectomy procedure will be incapable of stopping this process, but it is capable of "turning back the hands of time." A rhytidectomy (sometimes referred to as a face lift) is made to reduce much of the loeeseness and many of the heavy folds and wrinkles of the neck and face. The procedure will also improve the contour of a person's necklines and jaw. However, a face lift will not completely remove every line, wrinkle, and fold. There is a limited amount of improvement around the eyes and with fine lines of the facial skin. A rhytidectomy alone will not be able to improve acne scars, "smoker's" lines around the mouth, or poor complexion. Other options are available to treat these various problems including chemical peels, dermabrasion, and laser treatment.

Performed By A Plastic Surgeon, A Rhytidectomy Surgery Turns Back the Hands of Time

A face lift is capable of improving the most visible signs of aging by sculpting and tightening the deeper foundation and structures of the face and neck. As a person ages, the effects of sun exposure, gravity, smoking, heredity, weight fluctuations, and the stresses of daily life begin to show themselves in their face. A rhytidectomy procedure can bring back youth to a person's face. In youth, a face is smooth and firm due to proper positioning of normal facial fat and good skin elasticity. As a person ages, muscle tone and skin elasticity weaken and facial fat descends which causes prominent skin folds and deep creases between the corner of the mouth and nose. A person's jowls become more prominent along with loose skin and fat deposits in the neck.

A Plastic Surgeon Can Tighten Any Area Of Your Body With Body Contouring Procedures

Body lift surgery is very similar to a face lift. The only difference is that it involves the center of the body. A body lift, specifically is the surgical contouring of the abdomen, thighs, arms, and breasts in order to remove hanging, excess skin. The cosmetic surgery procedure itself is designed for people that have lost a large amount of weight either through gastric bypass surgery or through exercise and dieting. A significant loss of weight will often leave people with excessive, saggy, and unsightly skin that does not conform to their new, thinner figures. Another type of person who is a candidate for a body lift may be those who have sagging, excessive skin as a result of pregnancy or the normal aging process. As people age, their skin stops producing collagen, proteins, and elastin that are needed to keep skin toned and tight.

Body Lift Surgery Can Be Performed On The Arms, Abdomen, Buttocks, Breasts, And Thighs

Whether your sagging, stretched, or loose skin is because of pregnancy, aging, or loss of weight, a body lift is able to help you get the contours of your body back to normal. The surgery will also be able to provide you with tighter, smoother, younger looking skin. Plastic surgeons are capable of performing full body lifts or surgery specific to the following areas: arms, abdomen, buttocks, breasts, and thighs. An important note is that many plastic surgeons tailor their body lift procedures to meet the aesthetic and health goals and needs of their patients. If you are in need of further information in regards to a body lift surgery, you should set up a consultation with a cosmetic surgeon.

After A Chin Augmentation Surgery, Your Plastic Surgeon Will Give You Care Instructions

After the surgery, the chin will usually be taped in order to minimize swelling and discomfort. Sutures that were placed in the skin will be removed after five to seven days. If the plastic surgeon chose for you to have an intra-oral incision, the sutures will dissolve in time. While recovering from cosmetic chin surgery you will experience some mild swelling and discomfort in the affected area for several days after the procedure. It's typically that you will experience some temporary difficulty with talking and smiling. Blue and black marks can be visible around the neck and chin in some cases. Your cosmetic surgeon will provide you with instructions about your dental hygiene, eating, and any other restrictions to your activities after the procedure.

Plastic Surgeons Use Chin And Cheek Implants To Create A Greater Balance In One's Face

The inserting of a chin implant into a person's chin may take between thirty minutes to an hour. During this surgery, the plastic surgeon will select the proper shape and size of implant to properly enhance your appearance. He or she will then proceed to insert the implant into a pocket that has been created over the front of the jawbone. The small incision that is used to create the pocket and to insert the facial implant is typically placed inside the mouth (along the lower lip) or in the skin just under a person's chin area.

Quicker Recovery Facelift in Los Angeles, California

Medical science strides forward daily, and the improvements to procedures and outcomes continue to amaze. Just when you get used to the idea that your facial skin Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon and muscles can be tightened for a more youthful appearance, they find a way to cut down the recovery time for your facelift. According to Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Doctor Francis Palmer, "when the proper facial aesthetics are followed, the incisions [and] the tissue dissection can be limited which in turn means there will be smaller scars, less bruising and swelling and a shorter recovery time. This is the idea behind the creation of our 'Celebrity Lift™' that can make you look 10 years younger in less than 90 minutes with a recovery time that’s measured in hours, not weeks." The key, says Dr. Palmer, "is addressing the central portion of the face, the cheeks. The nasolabial folds are reduced and the cheeks are properly shaped using cheek implants or fillers like Radiesse or Perlane."

Certainly this should appeal to socialites, celebrities, business persons; really, to anyone who wants to look younger and doesn't have the luxury of spending a month or two out of sight while recovering. An added benefit Dr. Palmer points out is that, given reduced tissue dissection, "smokers and those with a long history of smoking may still be a candidate for this powerful, yet minimal incision facelift and necklift."

Silicone Breast Implants Used In Breast Augmentation Have A Natural Look And Feel

The silicone breast implants (also approved for general use) that plastic surgeons use today have a somewhat thicker shell than the implants that were used before 1992. They are also filled with a thicker silicone gel than past implants. The breast implants come pre-filled in various sizes and they are securely sealed so that there is little to no chance of any leakage. The word silicone with an "e" at the end is referring to a group of chemical compounds that vary in thickness from gels to liquid to a rubbery consistency. Among other things, they contain silicon (with no "e") which is an element, just like carbon, iron, or nitrogen. Silicon is the second most common on Earth after oxygen. When oxygen and silicon are combined it forms silica which is the most common substance on the planet. Most people know silica in many different forms such as crystals, sand, and quartz. Silicone is used in several everyday items such as soaps, lotion, processed foods, chewing gum, and hairspray.

Your Cosmetic Surgeon Will Make Sure That Your Face Lift Is Individualized For You

A rhytidectomy is very individualized. In your initial consultation with your plastic surgeon he or she will evaluate your face. This will include the underlying bone and skin. Then your doctor will discuss your goals for the surgery with you. He or she will then review your medical history and check you for any conditions that could possibly cause problems during or after the procedure. These conditions include uncontrolled high blood pressure, the tendency to form excessive scars, and blood clotting problems. You must be sure to inform your surgeon of all the vitamins, herbs, and medications that you are taking. If you are a smoker, your cosmetic surgeon will counsel you on the increased risks associated with healing and he or she will wait for you to have stopped smoking for at least two months before performing a procedure.

A Plastic Surgeon Can Reverse The Effects Of Gravity On Your Face With A Face Lift

A face lift, technically called a rhytidectomy, is a cosmetic surgery procedure that is capable of "setting the clock back" on your face and neck. As a person ages the effects of gravity and exposure to the sun along with the stresses of daily life can be seen within their faces. The jawline grows slack and jowly, deep creases form between the mouth and nose, and fat deposits and folds appear around the neck. A face lift is capable of improving the most visible signs of aging successfully by removing excess fat, re-draping the skin of your neck and face, and tightening the underlying muscles.

A Compression Garment Will Be Recommended By Your Plastic Surgeon After Suction Lipectomy

After liposuction surgery, the patient will be able to go home with a compression garment that covers the areas that have been treated. Compression of the areas where liposuction has been performed is recommended for about a month since it will help reduce swelling after the procedure. Once the soreness and pain decrease, it's frequently more comfortable to wear spandex or lycra exercise pants. Initial discomfort from the liposuction surgery will be easily controlled through the use of oral medication. Swelling and bruising will typically subside in two to four weeks with final results taking shape over two to three months.

Ultrasonic Assisted Liposuction Performed By A Plastic Surgeon Allows For A Safer Removal Of Fat

Plastic surgeons use UAL which allows for a safer removal of a larger amount of fat than what a standard liposuction procedure allows. The increase in safety is due to the smaller amount of blood removed with UAL. This means that UAL procedures can be very useful to someone who is moderately overweight even though it is not a weight loss procedure. Ultrasound assisted liposuction was created to improve the proportions and contour of the treated areas, resulting in a more flattering figure or physique.

Commonly Involved Areas Of Liposuction Include Upper Arms, Trunk, Abdomen, Waist, And Thighs

You are likely a good candidate for liposuction surgery if you have an excess amount of subcataneous fat, which is resistant to diet and exercise. The most commonly involved areas for liposuction are the upper arms and armpits, the anterior part of the neck, male breasts/chest, waist, hips, thighs, abdomen, trunk, ankles, and calves. Most patients who receive liposuction are near normal weight and desire a permanent change in their contour.

Choosing Breast Augmentation - Tulsa, Oklahoma

Tulsa Breast Augmentation - In addition to being aware of the steps a surgeon will take in performing a breast augmentation, it's good to pay Tulsa Breast Surgery heed to your doctor's instructions to you. After all, no matter how skilled your surgeon, the patient provides the working materials. Common preoperative instructions include cessation of smoking for a significant period prior to surgery, as well as avoiding aspirin and other substances as prescribed by your surgeon. It's not to deprive you of anything; these things can create complications in the operating room, such as an increase in bleeding. Your surgeon only wants your procedure to be as successful as possible. Tulsa plastic surgeon, Dr. Robert Mitchell, says that your surgeon may also request a mammogram be performed prior to surgery, to be used as a baseline in detecting future changes in your breast tissue. Naturally, continued self-examination following surgery is wise.

Breast Revision Plastic Surgeon - Utah

Breast Revision Utah - Breast implants can return breast volume lost to time and gravity, create the figure nature never provided, Breast Enlargement Utahcorrect differences of symmetry, and even restore breasts lost to illness or injury. Any surgical procedure can go awry, however, and though complications are relatively rare for breast implant surgery, they can happen. When a previous breast augmentation creates a cosmetic problem or poses a health risk, a revision procedure usually involving removal or replacement of the implant is called for. Some of the most common complications to breast enlargement are capsular contracture, nipple sensitivity (or the loss thereof), rippling, and rupture.

Of course, complications are not the only reason for revision surgery. Most implants are only designed to last 10 years, and many women find, after their surgery, that they simply wish they had gotten larger implants. For more on Utah plastic surgery, see Dr. Joseph Berg.

Sagging Or Extremely Large Breasts Can Be Fixed Through The Plastic Surgery Procedure Breast Reduction

Most women who have sagging or extremely large breasts can be both physically and emotionally uncomfortable. According to Dr. Placik, a Chicago plastic surgeon, they may suffer from back and neck pain, irritation under the breasts and soreness where brassiere straps cut into their shoulders. These women may also be self-conscious about their breast size. Furthermore, it may be difficult for them to find attractive clothing that fits properly; sometimes it is necessary to buy costly custom-made clothing and supportive garments. For these women, a breast reduction may be necessary.

Breast Reduction Offered By West Palm Beach Cosmetic Surgeon

For a breast reduction, incisions are placed around the areola in an effort to slide it into its proper position followed by removal of excess sagging breast tissue and skin. In some cases, the incision will be limited to just around the areola. In other cases, the incision may involve an incision in the shape of an upside down "T" or "anchor" that extends from the areola down the center portion of one's breast and then into the inframammary fold. According to Dr. Pinsky, a West Palm Beach plastic surgeon, the amount of incisions are determined by the amount of lifting that is required.

Plastic Surgeons Use Breast Lift Surgery To Raise And Reshape A Woman's Breasts

Mastopexy surgery is capable of restoring a more youthful appearance to womens' breasts. Over years breasts can lose their shape and firmness due to weight changes, pregnancy, and nursing with loss of skin elasticity causing them to sag. A mastopexy or breast lift, will raise and reshape the breasts slowing the effects of aging and gravity. This procedure can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker pigmented skin around the nipple. According to a West Palm Beach plastic surgeon, mastopexies are commonly performed in conjunction with breast augmentation to increase superior pole fullness, breast firmness, and size. This may appeal to a woman who has lost breast volume after pregnancy.

West Palm Beach Breast Augmentation

Augmentation Mammoplasty is a surgical procedure used to enhance the shape and size of a woman's breasts. Some candidates may feel that their breast size is too small. Breast augmentation is also a procedure to restore the volume of a woman's breasts following pregnancy. Dr. Pinsky, a West Palm Beach plastic surgeon says, breast augmentation can also be performed to correct for differences in a woman's right and left breast size. Some patients have different surgical goals – for example, a more natural breast shape in proportion to a woman's figure. Others prefer a more rounded shape in the upper pole of their breast somewhat larger than their proportionate figure. These goals can be achieved by using larger or smaller saline breast implants, and by adjusting the fill volume for each of the implants. In the breast augmentation procedure, short incisions are placed in the inframammary fold, around the lower portion of the areola (pigmented portion of the nipple) or through the axilla.

If You Have Fatty Areas That Don't Respond To Diet Or Exercise, Liposuction Is For You

Liposuction would be a great option for you if you have fatty areas that don't respond to exercise or diet. Liposuction is not a cellulite treatment or weight-loss procedure and those who are in good shape yet struggle with "problem" areas are the best candidates. The procedure slims and contours different areas of the body by removing the excess fat. Liposuction does not treat loose or sagging skin. In some cases, liposuction is performed alone, in other cases it is used with procedures such as a breast reduction/lift or a tummy tuck, which can reduce sagging skin. According to Tacoma plastic surgeon, Dr. Nichols, when combined with other procedures, liposuction can be one of the procedures in a Mommy Makeover.

For Women Who Go Through Breast Cancer, Breast Reconstruction Is The Solution

Any woman facing mastectomy also faces another difficult decision, the desire for and timing of reconstructive breast surgery. While the procedure is able to be performed many years after the mastectomy, recent advances encourage that women undergo simultaneous removal and reconstruction. If you have breast reconstruction performed at the same time you will receive many emotional advantages: a reduced period of postoperative discouragement in appearance, the avoidance of a non-reconstructed breast, the avoidance of potentially unnatural appearing breast implants, and an improved sense of self-confidence and self-esteem. According to Dr. Hoefflin, a Los Angeles plastic surgeon, having the procedure performed simultaneously also offers several surgical advantages: preservation of native breast skin on the reconstructed breast, greater symmetry in shape and volume, and the avoidance of another major general anesthetic procedure.

A Word About Abdominoplasty in Lindon, Utah

Abdominoplasty in Utah - A tummy tuck operation involves making an incision that falls along the natural creases of the lower abdomen, usually correlating with the bikini line. The skin is then lifted away from the abdomen, creating a flap. Depending on the patient's unique situation, the navel may be moved, fat may be suctioned away, and excess skin is excised, or cut away. Scarring is minimized as much as possible by the incision's being located in a natural crease, and by the application of vitamins and adhesives, but a scar is to be expected whenever there is an incision.

Utah cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Kimball Crofts, reminds patients that planned future pregnancies and certain medical conditions can make an abdominoplasty unsafe. The best way to know for sure if you are a good candidate for this procedure is in a personal consultation with your plastic surgeon.

Types Of Gynecomastia Patients - Recovery - Risks

There are a lot of male breast reduction patients who are men that never lost their extra bit of puffiness in their chest that they had while going through puberty. According to Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Dr. Steven Teitelbaum who performs male breast reduction in Beverly Hills, these people cannot see the outline of their pecs no matter what they do, even if they are fit or work out. Other men that may have this problem may be a result of steroid use for weight lifting. These steroids can cause a rapid growth of breast tissue. For the men that weight lift, they can usually feel a very firm "marble" or "walnut." Many other men suffer from woman-like breasts as a side-effect of some recreational drugs or prescription medications.

Male Breast Reduction Restores a Feeling of Masculinity

Signs like the lowering of one's voice, starting to shave, or developing an Adam's Apple are all signs of masculinity, so is a flat and stong looking chest. It is humiliating to have a chest that looks even the slightest bit feminine. Many women seek breast augmentation because they say, "I look like a boy and just want to feel feminine." And though men never make the opposite statement - probably because the words are too hard to say - it is probably in the back of their minds. Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Dr. Steven Teietelbaum, performs male breast reduction at his Beverly Hills male breast reduction surgery center. As shy as some flat-chested women are about men seeing their chest naked, they tend not to have the same level of shame or humiliation as do men with gynecomastia. It is very common that even men with the mildest forms of gynecomastia never want to take their shirt off, wear loose clothes over a tight undershirt, and spend time in front of a mirror pushing their chest back to make it look flatter.

The Shape And Size Of A Woman's Breasts Can Be Enhanced Using Breast Augmentation

Augmentation mammoplasty, more commonly referred to as breast augmentation is a cosmetic surgery procedure that is used to enhance the shape and size of a woman's breasts for many different reasons. According to Dr. Ameen Habash, a Palm Desert plastic surgeon, the reasons include but are not limited to: To balance a difference in size between two breasts; to enhance the body contour of a woman who feels her breast size is too small; to correct breast volume after a woman loses volume due to pregnancy; as a reconstructive procedure following any other breast surgery. By placing an implant behind each breast, plastic surgeons are capable of increasing the bust-line of a woman by one or more bra cup sizes.

Cosmetic Breast Surgery Can Dramatically Improve Self-Image, Self-Confidence And Quality Of Life Variations

There are many factors that will take their toll upon a woman's breasts after many years. These factors include nursing and pregnancy and the force of gravity. When the skin loses its elasticity, the breasts will usually lose some of their shape and firmness and begin to sag. A plastic surgery procedure known as a mastopexy, or breast lift, is designed to fight against those affects of aging. The procedure will raise and reshape sagging breasts at least for a time.

A breast lift surgery can also reduce the size of a woman's areola which is the darker skin that is around the nipple. In the case that your breasts have lost volume or are small, breast implants inserted during the procedure can greatly increase their size and their firmness.

According to Palm Desert plastic surgeon, Dr. Ameen Habash, the biggest reason that a woman seeks a breast lift is because nursing and pregnancy have left them with less volume and stretched skin in their breasts. If a woman is planning on having children, or more children, she should postpone the idea of having a breast lift until after she is done having children. There are no special risks that would affect a future pregnancy (mastopexy generally does not interfere with breast-feeding), pregnancy is more than likely going to stretch your breasts again and remove the results of the procedure.

Find A Great Plastic Surgeon

Here are a few tips that will help you find the right plastic surgeon.

* Is the doctor a board certified plastic surgeon?
If you are looking for a plastic surgeon that specializes in plastic surgery, make sure they are board certified. Many doctors can take classes to perform some cosmetic procedures but that does not mean that they are board certified as a plastic surgeon. Reputable plastic surgeons will advertise that they are board certified because they know it is important to future patients.

* Does the doctor have a portfolio or before/after photos?
Most doctors should have some patient examples that you can take a look at. Just remember, not everyone’s results are the same. There are many factors that contribute to how cosmetic procedures turn out. That is something you will want to consult your doctor about.

* Check for information about the doctor online.
It is really easy to find reviews, opinions and both good or bad information about pretty much anything you can think of online. Just pull up your favorite search engine (Google, Yahoo or Bing) and type in the name of the doctor or the clinic.

For example, if you were looking for a plastic surgeon in Chicago, IL just type that phrase into the search engine and you will have several options. Take a look at the first few pages of search results. Look for both the good and the bad. One thing you need to consider is that not everyone’s experience will be the same so don’t solely base your decision on what you find online.

* Check the doctor ’s education and surgical experience.
Most of them will have their past education and medical experience posted on their website or office. You can also find such information by checking medical or even plastic surgery portals online.

For more information on plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery in Chicago contact the Geldner Center for Plastic Surgery.

Remove the "Dimpled" Cellulite Look on your Thighs with a Thigh Lift

Are you self-conscious about the way your thighs look? Is there excessive, loose skin that hangs or shakes when you walk? A thigh lift is a popular choice for those looking for sleeker, tighter legs. Imagine being able to wear shorts again!

A thigh lift has many benefits. The goals of the thigh lift is to remove the "dimpled" cellulite look on your thighs, and reduce excess skin of the inner and outer thigh areas.

Depending upon your health and desired results, a thigh lift is often times most successful when combined with another procedure. If there are large amounts of excess tissue in your thighs, liposuction can also be performed for better results to sculpt your upper legs. Likewise, thighs and buttocks are often in the same condition and performing a buttocks lift may help to achieve your goals.

The thigh lift is an outpatient procedure that requires minimal anesthesia. Recovery usually takes between one and two weeks before painless and unrestricted movement returns. Incisions are usually hidden in the crease of the groin, and therefore adequate rest is necessary to speed recovery and decrease scarring.

TRAM flap patients can show abdominal muscle weakness but most patients resume normal activities after recovery.

During the past decade, liposuction, which is also known as "lipoplasty" or "suction lipectomy," has benefited from several new refinements. Today, a number of new techniques, including ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty (UAL), and the tumescent technique, are helping many plastic surgeons to provide selected patients with more precise results and quicker recovery times. Although no type of liposuction is a substitute for dieting and exercise, liposuction can remove stubborn areas of fat that don't respond to traditional weight-loss methods.

How Breast Reduction can Bring Balance to your Upper Body.

There is a substantial population of women who have a constellation of symptoms related to overly large breasts. These women experience pain in their upper back, neck and shoulders. This can lead to grooving or indentations in the shoulders from years of pressure by bra straps. Often, overly enlarged breasts, called Macromastia, prevent women from enjoying sports, exercise and other physical activities. Rashes frequently occur under the breasts, especially during warm summer months. Clothes can be ill fitting and there can even be psychological issues from taunting during teenage years. Breast Reduction surgery is a procedure that is designed to relieve women who suffer from these problems.

Hand Rejuvenation Hides the Signs of Aging

Human hands are highly visible. We extend our hands as a gesture of friendliness in order to form new friendships and acquaintances. Others can tell a lot by looking at our hands. For instance, the age of the individual can be estimated when looking at someone’s hand and while many people have cosmetic surgery to make their face look younger, their hands reveal their true age. With the hands looking years older than the facial features an obvious tell-tale sign that someone has had facial rejuvenation will be noticed by the average individual. For those who are concerned about the appearance of their hands, there are steps that can help prevent and more importantly reverse the signs of aging.

Remove Localized Fat Deposits with Liposuction

Liposuction can remove localized fat deposits from almost any area of the body. Many plastic surgeons use an "ultrasonic" technique, during which sound waves liquefy fat cells before liposuction begins. This allows the elimination of more tissue, especially in difficult to treat areas such as "love handles" and the upper abdomen. Ultrasound breaks up fibrous tissue in the fat, and gives smoother results than with other types of liposuction.
By injecting saline, anesthetic solution and epinephrine during liposuction ("tumescent" liposuction), bruising is minimized. Incisions for liposuction are small and easily hidden.

Liposuction: The Procedure

Many plastic surgeons use a "tumescent technique." After the induction of general anesthesia or intravenous sedation, a large volume, up to several quarts, of very dilute local anesthetic is injected into the areas to be treated. There is a tiny dose of adrenaline in the fluid as well, which makes the blood vessels in the area clamp down. This prevents perhaps 95% of the blood loss that would otherwise occur during liposuction.
Thin hollow stainless steel tubes are placed through short (perhaps 1/4") incisions in the area treated and are used to suction away the appropriate amount of fat. Sheets of lightweight foam are placed on the treated areas, and a compression garment, like a corset, is placed. Bruising is usually scant.

Breast Reconstruction: A Rewarding Surgical Procedure

Breast reconstruction is one of the most rewarding surgical procedures performed by plastic surgeons. There are several different procedures which can be used to create the form and shape of a breast, which will closely approximate the opposite side. They will establish a more normal appearance and, more importantly, allow you to regain your self esteem. Today, breast reconstruction is usually initiated at the time of mastectomy. It may involve the creation of a breast mound entirely using your own tissue (TRAM flap) or it may involve using a tissue expander, which is a balloon placed temporarily under the chest muscle. This balloon is expanded or stretched as it is filled with saline. This stretches the skin slowly to create a pocket large enough to accommodate a permanent implant.

Get Rid of Stubborn Fat with Liposuction

While plastic surgeons encourage approaching liposuction from a state of good health, diet and exercise, they can effectively remove stubborn areas of fat that won't respond in any other way. Through a very tiny incision, which can be concealed, a plastic surgeon will place a tube deep beneath the skin. With a combination of ultrasound energy and suction, a plastic surgeon can remove and sculpt fatty layers. The liposuction they perform is usually circumferential which will tailor the area front to back and avoid any irregularities. Afterwards a compression garment or girdle will help control swelling and provide comfort while the skin shrinks and the bruising resolves.

Reasons People Decide to Have Nasal Surgery

The nose is the most prominent feature of our face. Its size and shape influence our entire facial appearance. A well-shaped nose appears balanced and in harmony with all of a person’s facial features. When the nose is too large or too small for the face it will seem out of balance or asymmetric. Even if the nose is properly sized, but the individual parts of the nose are not well proportioned to one another, then the nose will appear out of sync with the rest of the face. These problems can be due to trauma, genetics, or previous surgery. A well-balanced, proportionate and harmonious nose is essential for a beautiful or handsome appearance and it is for this reason that so many people seek to change and improve the shape of their nose.

If you smoke, plan to quit at least one to two weeks before your surgery and not to resume for at least two weeks after your surgery. Avoid overexposure to the sun before surgery, especially to your abdomen, and do not go on a stringent diet, as both can inhibit your ability to heal. Eyelid surgery helps restore a youthful appearance by removing or redraping excess fat, muscle and skin from the upper and lower eyelids. Either alone or combined with other facial rejuvenation procedures, eyelid surgery can drastically reduce the signs of aging.

The Desire For More Natural-Looking Ears

Most patients, young and old alike, are thrilled with the results of ear surgery. But keep in mind, the goal is improvement, not perfection. Don't expect both ears to match perfectly-perfect symmetry is both unlikely and unnatural in ears. If you've discussed the procedure and your expectations with the plastic surgeon before the operation, chances are, you'll be quite pleased with the result.

Major Problems that Affect the Eyelids and a Solution, Blepharoplasty

There are essentially two major problems that affect the eyelids. One is the build up of excess fat behind the eyelids, especially in the lower eyelids. This pushes outward on the eyelid causing a bulge or “bag” to develop. Light, which most often comes from above us, will shine on the bulge and cause a shadow to form under the lid. This gives the appearance of dark circles and the tired-look.

The second major problem affecting eyelids is wrinkling of the skin. This is due to a loss of the skin’s natural elastic properties, which can be as a result of the aging process, sun damage and cigarette smoking. The excess skin can become redundant and hang down, especially on the upper lids, adding to that tired or aged appearance. Excessive drooping of the upper eyelids can even obstruct vision.

Surgical treatment, called a Blepharoplasty, is directed at each of these problems. A Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon has been a pioneer in developing a remarkable method of Blepharoplasty, which employs the use of the laser. This ultra skilled approach represents a blend of the highest level of safety with the best aesthetic results.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy): The Cure For Sagging Breasts

A breast lift, technically called a mastopexy, is a surgical procedure which can help to restore a more youthful and natural shape to sagging breasts. Gravity, pregnancy, nursing, weight gain, loss of skin elasticity, and aging, can all lead to sagging and a loss of firmness. A breast lift removes excess skin and tissue to reshape and firm the breasts, and it almost always involves repositioning the nipple-areola complex higher on the breast mound. A Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in California can help you get the breast lift you want.

I think it is great to have a surgery that restores self-esteem and confidence into older woman and mothers. The aftermath of pregnancy can be crushing to some women, especially when younger. Has anyone had an experience with a mastopexy?

Arizona Browlift Turns Back Your Clock

A browlift is a procedure that renews a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance above the eyes. Often the drooping brows, horizontal lines, and furrows can cause a person to appear angry, sad, and tired. People develop the creases and frown lines due to aging, stress, and/or muscle activity. In a browlift, the muscles and tissues that cause the furrowing or drooping are removed or altered to smooth the forehead, raise the eyebrows and minimize frown lines.

An Arizona Board Certified Plastic Surgeon can best help you get the browlift you desire.

I find forehead lifts very successful in turning back one's clock. They really make a person look younger. Has anyone had this done before?

Two Different Types of Breast Implants: Saline vs. Silicone

Breast Augmentation uses breast implants which are either filled with a saline solution or silicone gel. Saline implants are most commonly used as the use of silicone implants has been restricted. This is because the rupture of a silicone implant may release the silicone material into the body's tissues which is a significant health concern. If saline implants rupture, the saline solution is harmlessly reabsorbed into the body and the implant can be replaced.

A Long Beach Board Certified Plastic Surgeon can help you to achieve your goals.

I know breast augmentation is a very common performed plastic surgery procedure, but I didn't know there were different types of implants. Did anyone else not know?

Also called a "tummy tuck", abdominoplasty can remove excess skin and fat, stretch marks, and scars on the lower abdomen. It corrects unwanted changes that are left after weight loss or childbirth. The procedure also tightens the abdominal muscles and decreases the waistline.

Abdominoplasty does not involve entering the abdomen itself, only more superficial areas of the body. The incisions for this procedure extend from just below the pubic line to the belly button.

Los Angeles Plastic Surgeon Ear Surgery (Otoplasty)

Ear surgery is performed to set ears back that either stand out substantially from the side of the head, or to reduce the size of oversized ears. For the most part, the operation is done on children between the ages of six and fourteen, usually when they get tired of being teased. Often times this self consciousness forces one to wear their hair long and down just to cover up their prominent ears. The results of this procedure, whether performed in children or adults, are rewarding and impressive. Ear surgery is also possible in adults with fewer risks. You have to be clear about what and how you want your ear to be when you talk to the doctor.

* When a qualified and experienced surgeon performs the ear surgery, the complications and risks involved are usually minor.

* Patients may develop a blood clot on the ear. It can dissolve naturally or drawn out with a needle.

* Patient may develop an infection in the cartilage, which can cause sear tissue to form.

The Best Candidates for Abdominoplasty

The best candidates for abdominoplasty are men or women who are in relatively good shape but are bothered by a large fat deposit or loose abdominal skin that won't respond to diet or exercise. The surgery is particularly helpful to women who, through multiple pregnancies, have stretched their abdominal muscles and skin beyond the point where they can return to normal. Loss of skin elasticity in older patients, which frequently occurs with slight obesity, can also be improved. Contact a board certified plastic surgeon for a tummy tuck in California.
